SchoRen TrapServer Operating Software Release

March 2009

SchoRen NMS Solutions, LLC announces release of TrapServer 1.5.8 operating system. This version of software reflects the largest intelligent release since 2007. It includes:

Area-of-Responsibility (AOR)

AOR will filter Areas and Events based on the login user and filter forwarding of traps (TrapForwarding) based upon Area, Site, and Equipment configuration. AOR will filter Areas and Events based on the login user and filter forwarding of traps (TrapForwarding) based upon Area, Site, and Equipment configuration. AOR applies to all aspects of TrapServer manager.

Multiple WorkStation Support

TrapServer enables multiple, independent workstations to View and Control network alarm activity from TrapServer Manager. TrapServer’s two primary Operator Windows; EventViewer (color text display) and AreaViewer (color graphics with flashing icons) can be exported to virtually any PC as a separate instance. This means that an operator in one location may want a graphical view of one specific area while another operator may want to view the entire system. This is supported by multiple remote workstations. Remember, TrapServer supports 30 concurrent users without any additional licensing!

Browser Status Views on TrapServer AreaViewer

Browser StatusView enable users who have dial-up or Internet access to readily see an Area to determine current site and alarm status at a glance! All alarms are shown as individual icons that reflect the color of the assigned alarm priority. Users view alarm activity by changes in normal and alarm priority color as the alarms change state.

Browser Based Select Scan of Badger 481 RTUs

This function provides real time update of alarm information using the Web Server from TrapServer and any web based browser. When used with Analog Voltage monitoring (battery voltage, power, wave guide pressure, temperature) of the RTU, the user has the ability to view changes as they occur from the report site.

Browser Based Remote Test Tone of Badger 481 RTUs

Test tone operation allow analog tones to be sent from the Badger 481 RTU. This enables technicians to set analog communications levels for the 481 Remote Terminal Units. It is also a great trouble shooting tool for determining path degradation by enabling the technician to measure the level of a single path without operator intervention or the need for another technician.

Browser Based Remote Control of Badger 481 RTU Control Points

Control operation is essential for remote control of equipment within a microwave communications system. One of the most common uses of control operation is the ability to remote start a generator. TrapServer gives the users the ability to not only start the generator but to exercise all the generators at all the sites with one operation.
